“I was a stupid kid with brilliant dreams, a ghost in the American Nightmare. I smoked, snorted and stumbled my way through every wasted scene in Rock Island until there was no one left to screw––and nothing left of my dreams but the waking… “

“Someday couldn’t come soon enough. So I stole my daddy’s rusty land yacht and set sail on the flyover seas, through the ghost towns and the shadow lands, the toxic rivers and the pipeline crossings, until I washed up on the shores of L.A. like a refugee in my own country. But I wasn’t a refugee for long. I had a talent for spinning my past into legend, and for talking girls out of their best intentions. And I knew how to find the party…”

Party All Night On Sunset Words and Music © 2017 Morty Shallman Party all night on Sunset Baby wants to Rock, Baby wants to Rock See how high we can get Baby wants to Rock, Baby wants to Rock Cruising’ down the strip in my daddy’s Jag Sneakin’ shots of Jack from your Hermes bag Laughin’ at the hookers in their black thigh highs And the LED starlight in their eyes Flippin’ off the tourists in their Venice Ts Starin’ back at us like we’re Royals, please All the while we’re blastin’ rock radio It’s the beat of our dreams here we go go go! Party all night on Sunset Baby wants to Rock, Baby wants to Rock See how high we can get Baby wants to Rock, Baby wants to Rock Party all night long To our favorite party rock song Party all night on Sunset Baby wants to Rock, Baby wants to Rock We slink into The Viper for some indie band Then rock onto The Roxy but there’s barely room to stand So it’s over to the Rainbow for an old school fix But the Wizard of Ozzie looks like Nikki Sixx So we slip into the boy’s room to powder our nose With some questionable product from these rockabilly bros Next thing I know is, you’re taking off your clothes I guess you really like me, here we go go go! Repeat Chorus We customize the Standard and we torch the House of Blues We pity all the baby bands payin’ whiskey dues We crash some after party in the hills above the strip And post it all on Instagram, so you better like our shit It’s a party for the ages A party for tonight A party rock anthem to get us through the night  A party for the girls and a party for the guys But you better make it happen before the sun does rise! Repeat Chorus x 4

“She was a good girl with bad ideas––a spoiled child of luxury willing to throw it all away on a dare. The first time I saw her, I knew I was a dead man. But I didn’t care. Because she made her lies seem true enough. And the sex was molten…”

She's Breaking Bad Words and Music © 2017 Morty Shallman, Jeff Blue, Steve Dresser Throws her feet on the dash While she’s counting the cash I gun it and go go go As we race through the night See the flash of the lights No time to lay low low low She bad But I don’t give a damn She bad No one can understand So bad She brings the villain out of me Her curves are dangerous, treacherous, she’s got me driving insane Our love is scandalous, such a rush, we’re skidding out in the rain She knows a million ways to die, but only one way to live Just the two of us, on the run, that’s why she’s breaking bad Hit rewind to the start When she first stole my heart And blinded my eyes eyes eyes Got me hooked on the thrill Then went in for the kill With her clever disguise guise guise She bad But I don’t give a damn She bad If evil is her plan So bad She brings the villain out of me Repeat Chorus Run Fast Cash She’s breaking bad Run Fast Cash She’s breaking bad Repeat Chorus Repeat Bridge

“You know you’ve met your match when she sets your life on fire. This one blew mine up like a suicide bomber in a Gucci romper and heels. Now I’m on my knees, wasted and alone, a fallen eagle with ashes for wings, begging for one last hit of chemical delusion before I drown in the nightmare sea of her betrayal…”

“Am I pitiful man, because I see the truth of my destruction, but refuse to take the blame? Am I the author of my own demise, or just another victim of the lies we call Pop Fiction? Does it matter in the end? Or is the end all that matters?”

about

A Neo Pop, Indie Noir Concept Thriller.

Fusing elements of Pop, Rock and EDM with Film Noir and Pulp Fiction, "Pop Fiction" builds on the “Literary Pop” genre developed by Morty Shallman in his previous projects, “Love’s Oblivion, A Novel in Twelve Pop Songs,” and “Last of the Zacharys,” the world’s first “Novel with Songs.” In "Pop Fiction," Morty expands his experimentations into the world of cinema, using the four songs and five interlocking chapter narrations of the EP to define the three acts and story beats of a Neo-Noir style thriller.
